April 28, 2020

Nothing makes us happier than to have our guests gather again around our tables. As we reopen our diner doors, our continued commitment to the health and safety of both our team members and guests has only deepened. Below you’ll find some of the specific changes you’ll see when you visit during this period of recovery. We’ll also continue to offer our expanded curbside takeout and delivery options. We deeply appreciate your loyalty and trust in Metro Diner and thank you for your support!

In addition to our continued safe sanitation and food handling practices, we’re taking additional measures for dine-in, in compliance with local government as well as CDC guidelines:

Sanitization: Full sanitization of our dining room prior to reopening, with continued disinfection throughout the day, particularly of high-touch surfaces. Tables, seats/booths, condiments, and payment devices will also be fully sanitized between every party. Hand sanitizer will be readily available for both guests and team members. All menus will be disposable.

Distancing: We’re limiting dining room capacity to allow a minimum of 6 feet between all tables, with no more than 6 guests per table. Servers will maintain a 6 foot distance from guests whenever possible. If there’s a wait, we’ll text guests when their table is ready so they can stay in their cars if preferred.

Team Wellness: We begin each shift with wellness/temperature checks of our entire team, who will wear clean masks and gloves at all times.

Training: We’ll continue to provide instruction in strict sanitation standards and newly modified service guidelines to every team member.

April 20, 2020

As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to impact all corners of the world, we continue to ensure that our Metro Diner family, guests, and community remain safe and up-to-date on all local and federal government standards.

Taking Care of the Metro Diner Family
Metro Diner Team Members and their immediate family are being provided hot meals regardless of their current employment status (furloughed, part-time or full-time). We are maintaining consistent two-way communication with all Team Members regarding regulation changes, ongoing training and procedural reminders, financial assistance opportunities, and unemployment guidance.  We are communicating to our Team that their jobs are safe and we can’t wait to welcome them back to work; reuniting the Metro Diner family once this is all over is our #1 goal!

Taking Care of Metro Diner Guests & Communities
Metro Diner guests are still able to order their go-to favorites – like Chicken & Waffles and Iron City Meatloaf – via pick-up or delivery at 44 Metro Diner locations across 12 states. We are open until 8pm daily (at nearly all Diner locations), accepting call-in and online orders for pick-up, and fulfilling delivery through DoorDash and UberEats. To limit contact, we have set up curbside tents where we don gloves and masks and maintain a safe distance as we hand orders to drivers or place in their backseat or trunks for contact-free pick-ups.

We deeply appreciate your loyalty and trust in Metro Diner, our people, and our safety procedures.  We look forward to the day our Guests can re-gather around our tables.  Until then, we look forward to serving you via contact-free curbside or delivery.
